The Day for Dion Fortune, The Light of the West
Sat, October 2, 2010 - 9:30

Dion Fortune was one of England’s most prominent magicians. Today, over 60 years since her death, her work is as relevant to our contemporary times as ever. Her modern colleagues have organised a conference on the central theme of Dion’s influence on contemporary magic. Speakers at the conference will be:

Bob Gilbert - Geraldine Beskin - Marian Green - Naomi Ozaniec – Ina Cüsters-van Bergen.

Ina Cüsters-van Bergen will speak about an important theme in the work of Dion Fortune, the ‘Transformation of the Archetypes’. As a psychologist and a ceremonial magician, Dion used mythology and magic to create ‘changes in consciousness’. Ina will explain how to use the Art of Magic in this way to cause the soul to grow.

The Tarot Conference in London
October 8th and 9th 2010

From there, Ina will travel to London where she has been invited to speak at the annual tarot conference on October 8th and 9th. The tarot is an important connecting thread running throughout the Western Mystery Tradition.

The best known Tarot cards were designed by initiates of the Western Spiritual Tradition’. The cards feature symbols which lead you to the pre-Christian mysteries and magical techniques.

Ina Cüsters-van Bergen uses the tarot cards as symbols for meditation. Within the Hermetic Order of the Temple of Starlight, tarot cards are used as ‘tableaux’ for ritual settings.

The cards thus function as important gateways which give access to the Inner Planes, and can be used by mystics and magicians to contact the highest mystical states of the mind. In this way, the Tarot gives access to ‘virtually unknown forces of the mind’.

Speakers will be: Mary Greer - Kim Arnold - Trudy Ashplant - Richard Abbot - Jonathan Dee - Laurent Langlais - Ina Cüsters-van Bergen

The Sword in the Stone - Glastonbury
October 30th and 31st 2010

The Celtic ‘Samhain’ traditionally celebrated on 31st October is seen as the time of the year in which the ‘veils between the worlds’ are at their thinnest. Glastonbury is the modern name for the legendary Avalon. And this is the place and the opportunity for you to work together with Ina Cüsters-van Bergen magically. The participants of this workshop will connect up to the Lords and Ladies of the Arthurian legends, and become part of an ongoing mystery play. A magical force field will be brought into being in which the mythological personae come to life in the participants in a magical way.

The Angels of the Halls of Heaven

Ritual drama and mystery play are also enjoyed in the Netherlands and Ina has organised an intensive weekend workshop here too. From November 12th till 14th, Dutch magicians (in the making) will come together to practice and enjoy Angelic Magic in Brabant.

Archaic texts describe the most important Archangels, who sometimes take people with them on a journey into the heavens. The prophet Enoch was one such person. Mediaeval magicians also carried out intensive work with Angelic Magic. Angelic work has resulted in a number of important books which were given to humanity by the Angels.

During this intensive weekend, participants will invoke the angels using the methods taught to humanity by the angels themselves.

Introduction to High Magic

Ina’s England tour will end in London. On 27th November she will teach a one-day workshop in the heart of London, in cooperation with the great magical bookshop of London ‘The Atlantis Bookshop’.

‘I remember very clearly standing at the window of the Atlantis bookshop as a wanna-be-magician. Open-mouthed I gaped at the large Anubis mask in the window, thinking ‘so there really are people out there doing this work! Now I am returning to this spot as a teacher of the tradition.

The famous painting of Samuel Liddell MacGregor Mathers, chief adept of the GD, donning his ritual robes, overlooks the scene of the shop. I hope that the ‘big boss’ appreciates me giving a workshop at the heart of the tradition on these historical grounds.
